The majority of teenagers will become involved with sex during their adolescent years. The first thing one needs to do is to become informed about what sex is and what the options are. STI’s/Sexually transmitted infections (also called sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)) are not shameful and they are not a punishment – they are simply diseases that, if not treated, can seriously damage your health.

Anyone who is sexually active can get sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also called venereal diseases or sexually transmitted infections. The main way to get an STD is through sexual intercourse or any other sexual contact with someone who already has it.
