The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Campus Walk looks to raise awareness of suicide prevention and to raise funds for suicide prevention efforts for our regional and national AFSP. Taking part on college campuses nationwide, the walks raise awareness and funds that enable the foundation to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy and support survivors of suicide loss. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among people ages 18-24, and often results from depression, bipolar, anxiety disorders and other mental health conditions that have gone untreated.
The event took place at 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at UCLA’s Drake Stadium. Our Teen Line Volunteers and our Outreach Coordinator, Robyn Kures, were there to promote Teen Line, support UCLA, and take part in the walk. We are all so proud of our Volunteers!
