Alive & Running SK Walk/Run 2014
The annual Alive & Running 5K Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention was held on September 28th to benefit Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services’ Suicide Prevention Center.
The Suicide Prevention Center has been helping people in crisis for nearly 60 years. The first in the nation to establish a 24-hour suicide prevention crisis line, the center today offers an unmatched breadth of services for people in crisis while providing outreach, education and leadership on initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide.
The event raises awareness about suicide prevention and provides support to people who have lost loved ones to suicide. Money raised benefits the Suicide Prevention Centers Crisis Line, which provides back up coverage for TeenLine, chat services, support groups for people who have attempted or lost loved ones to suicide and community education about how to recognize suicide’s warning signs.
