Alive & Running 5K Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States and the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10-24. Over 40,000 Americans die by suicide every year.

Did Hirsch’s Suicide Prevention Center runs the nation’s first crisis line and provides training, education and support for people who are considering or have lost loved ones to suicide. On September 27th, TEEN LINE attended the annual Alive & Running 5K Walk/Run for Suicide Prevention  to benefit Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services’ Suicide Prevention Center which provides back up call coverage for Teen Line daily, chat services, support groups for people who have attempted or lost loved ones to suicide and community education about how to recognize suicide’s warning signs.
