TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
i just moved here i________ and i just found out that i am pregnant and i dont have a doctor i dont know what to do

TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hey, thanks for emailing TEEN LINE.
I understand why you're feeling scared about what to do, and how to react to the fact that you're pregnant. Is there anybody you can talk to about how you're feeling, and that you're pregnant? Like a close friend, or family member? I know that it can be scary, but it can help talking to somebody. There's a place called Canadian Federation for Sexual Health that can help you with pregnancy, and they can find an office around you. Their number is (613) 241-4474, and their website is www.cfsh.ca. If you need somebody to talk to you can call TEEN LINE at 310-855-4673 and we're open from 6PM to 10PM PST, we'd be glad to talk. Or you can chat with us online.

TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hello, I'm really glad that you've contacted us, it sounds like you are very concerned about your safety, and I'm glad that you are seeking out for help. Have you talked with people around you, like a friend or relative? They might have had previous experience about this that might help you, or they could just simply be there for you to hear you out and lend you a shoulder to lean on. I'm worried about your health, do you think you could see your doctor about it? As medical doctors they probably will have better insight about what is going on. Also, there is a place called Planned Parenthood. They provide various services related with pregnancy; you might want to check it out. Their website is www.plannedparenthood.org and you could call them at 800-576-5544. They offer sliding scale, which means that their fees will be adjusted to you so that you can afford it.

If you need a place to talk to feel free to call us at TEEN LINE. We are open everynight 6pm to 10pm PST. You could call us at 800-852-8336 or chat with us online through our website, www.teenlineonline.org.

TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
i am turning 21 in a month, i just found out im pregnant and i'm not sure what to do. i finally told my mom and like most she wasn't very positive about it, but the thing is im in my third year of college and i am so confused on what to do. does anyone have any suggestions?

TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hey, thanks so much for getting into contact with us here at TEEN LINE. You sound very worried and confused. Unplanned pregnancy is a scary thing to deal with. You've already taken a step to tell your mom and it is very good to ask other people, especially a trusted adult on their opinion. Have you told anyone else about whats going on, such as even a school counselor since you say you're in college? You have options like keeping the baby, adoption, abortion...etc. If you want more information on pregnancy and sexual health as well as medical care you could contact Planned Parenthood on their website www.plannedparenthood.org or 800-743-7526. I just want to let you know that if you took an at-home pregnancy test it is not always accurate, so you might want to get tested in a medical setting, such as planned parenthood or your doctors office. If you are pregnant you need to talk to someone you can trust and get medical attention right away. We're here to help, feel free to call us 6-10pm pacific standard time at 310-855-4673.

TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
how do i get birth control without my parents finding out?

TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hey, thanks for emailing us at TEEN LINE. Dealing with birth control can be confusing. Have you heard of Planned Parenthood ? They offer free pregnancy tests, pregnancy counseling and aid etc. and their national number is 800-230-7526. Their referral line is open for 24 hours and they can help find the closest one to you. They are typically confidential, but you might want to call in and check if they need parent approval for birth control. If you need to talk you can call TEEN LINE at 310-855-4673 and we're open from 6PM to 10PM PST.
