Is it normal to talk to a teacher about personal stuff?

TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
Is it normal to talk to a teacher about personal stuff? My seventh grade science teacher is the only person I can turn to. I am in 8th grade now and I go back in homeroom and we just talk. Since I am graduating this year are there any ways I can still talk to her? Is this normal?

TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hey thanks for coming to TEEN LINE. It sounds like your feeling confused. Having a trusted adult to talk to is perfectly normal. You mentioned how you are graduating this year. It sounds like you feel comfortable talking to your teacher. Have you tried talking to your teacher about how you are feeling? Maybe you can still keep in touch and talk to your teacher when you do graduate? If you need another trusted adult to talk to when you do graduate, you can always try talking to a school counselor or a therapist. If you need someone to talk to you can also call us here at TEEN LINE. Our number is 310-855-4673 and we are open from 6-10 PM PST.
