I am struggling with homosexuality
TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
I am struggling with homosexuality and I don't want to be gay because I want to obey God. I believe in God and I want to follow whats in the bible. I've been gay since Sept. 2008. Till this day I am still struggling with it. Because of all this struggle I've gone through stress, depression, I've felt alone and helpless. I've even cut my arm a couple of times. I don't want to hurt myself because I don't want to be gay, I just don't know how to handle this situation. What should I do?
TEEN LINE WROTE:
Hey, Thanks for emailing us. This sounds like you are in a very difficult situation and it sounds like you are feeling very alone. During puberty, it can be a very confusing time. And it sounds like you are having a confusing time with your sexuality. I understand this conflict with your religion and your sexuality. Have you talked to anyone about this? A close friend, a family member, or even a member of the church? I am worried about you when you say that you have cut yourself. There are other ways to deal with your feelings like journaling, doing something you enjoy, or even exercising. It also may help to talk to a school counselor about what your going through. You can call us at TEEN LINE (310)855 4673, we are happy to talk to you. We are open from 6-10pm PST.
