TEEN QUESTION/PROBLEM:
I'm not sure if you guys can even answer this, but I've searched and keep getting mixed answers. I am on my 8th month of Yasmin birth control. I take my pill at 9 pm every night (alarm on phone) except when the time changed last Sunday which made me any hour late. (That doesn't matter, correct?) Anyway, this is my question. I took my 5th pill of the pack at 9 pm Saturday right after eating a late dinner. I think I ate too late and it made me a little sick. I got a stomach ache and went to the bathroom at about 9:30. My stools were loose, but not really watery and it only happened once. After that, everything was fine. Would that affect my pill? It says it can be affected if you have diarrhea, but doesn't say what that means. Does that mean if I went to the bathroom more than once? My boyfriend and I use condoms as well, but I'm still worried. Please help!
TEEN LINE WROTE:
hey,
Sometimes birth control pills can be a little bit tricky. You are right about the one hour difference it doesn't really matter. I know you think the mixture of late night pill and food has created a problem but if it only happened once I don't really think it's anything to be too worried about. Diarrhea actually means that you didn't keep any food in your body and need to go to the bathroom all the time. I'm not a doctor so I can't be a hundred percent sure about all of this, if you are really worried though then going to a doctor could possibly be a good idea, there's never anything wrong with just being to careful. Have you talk to anyone one of your friends or family members and got their opinion? It's very good you also use condoms!
