The 2012 Out of the Darkness Community Walk was held on October 27th in Culver City to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The major goal of this event was to show support for the families and friends of the 33,000 Americans who die by suicide, and the 20 million people who suffer from depression, each year. This year TEEN LINE supported the walk to help raise funds for suicide prevention, research and educational programs, and to erase the stigma surrounding suicide and its causes. Money raised directly benefited the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
