I like my best friend

Postby Whatdoido101 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 1:13 pm

I'm a lesbian teen who likes one of mybest friends. We hang ou all of the time- sleepovers and stuff - and I've likes her for a couple years. At one point, she didn't know of she was bi or gay or whatever - bi/gay curious - but now she's pretty sure she's straight. Is there anyway I can be with her? If so, please help!

She knows I'm gay. I pretty much tell her everything. I'm confident I'm gay. Ive had this past experience that has scared me away from guys and showed me that I'm not really attracted to them.

I don't know much about this subject. I have gay friends and a gay dad, but I never wondered about myself, so your friend is probably a different case. I just know I'm straight and if a lesbian friend of mine wanted to go out with me, I'd be pretty weirded out and the friendship would get awkward. Sorry, hon, but I say don't go for it. But remember, I said your friend might be different, so only if you're sure you won't risk the friendship...

I am going through the exact same thing. You should tell her and just hope for. The best. The faster you tell her the better of you will be. Tell me how it works out. Stay strong be proud of who you are

Wow, that sounds like a really difficult situation. I can imagine that you're feeling trapped by your emotions, and are consequently very frustrated. It also seems like you're confused by the situation. I think you should consider having an open conversation with her about your feelings, and see where the conversation leads.
I would like to give you the number for the LGBTQ hotline. It's 800-246-7743, and they can talk with you about your sexuality. Also, you can look at their website gnlh.org.
If you would like to talk with us about this in further detail, please call us at TEEN LINE at 310-855-4673; we're open from 6-10 pm daily.
