Tampons-Girls only plz

Tampons-Girls only plz

Postby edtrapped » Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:24 pm

Okay, so this is a "for girls" type of question. I was sexually molested by someone very close to me from 6-13, but never the point of "unvirginizing" me. So yea, its still there. And I'm a lesbian so I'm really not into that anyway. So, my period is really heavy and I am in dance, so I need to start wearing tampons. I have tried a couple of times but I keep getting really anxious when anything gets near there. I couldnt even handle a doctor's exam a little while back. I don't know what to do. Any tips? Or am I just wierd for being scared of this...

Its not weird at all that you are nervous. I was raped by my boyfriend(who was also my best friend) and i get weary when i have to have examinations because i never know whats going to happen. I think it is completely normal what your going through

Okay thank you. I thought I may have been alone. Do you still use tampons?

Thanks for making this. I thought I was the only one who would get extremely uncomfortable whenever anything goes down there. I won't go into details about when I was trying to learn, but let's just say I only use pads. All the same, I think it is more critical in performing than in practice to use a tampon. If I were you, I'd talk to my dance teacher to see if it would be possible to be able to use pads (and wearing a dance skirt) as an alternative. Especially if you're comfortable talking to her. I don't think that after being abused for so long, you should be exposed to such a strong trigger, especially if you happen to be on your period during a performance (although I don't know what you'll do then unless you wear a skirt or are exempt from participation). Also, you should look into getting referred to a counselor by your doctor or talking with your school counselor if your comfortable with that. God bless and good luck with that! :D
