Help me!

Postby Diane » Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:52 am

Okay, for the past few months, I've been really worried about my weight and appearance (I'm almost 15). My worst fear is being fat.

I'm 5'7'' and 125 lbs. I try to skip meals whenever I can, and I've lost several pounds (I used to weigh 132). I'm so afraid of being fat, and I compare myself to others constantly. I think about my weight a lot. On the other hand, sometimes I can't help myself, and when I'm craving a favorite flavor, I give in and eat it.

I don't want to become anorexic, but I REALLY don't want to be fat, and I'm terrified that I'm both of these! How do I stop giving in to my cravings, and how do I feel better about my self-image?!

Skipping meals don't work, it just makes your craving for a type of dish even more craviner(made up word). You need to eat no matter what, but don't over do it. It's all about self control. Also you could try to exercise, I mean I'm 5'5" and I way 102lbs. I swim/train 5 times a week, and most of my weight consists of muscles, not fat. So just try exercising, and you'll be fine. But you have to do it constantly, you can't just do it once and think that you'll lose 10 pounds, it takes time, and all you need it just some patients. Good Luck!!!

excersising is always better than skipping meals, your body needs food to function correctly so its good to eat when you are hungry, don't skip meals but maybe you could cut back a little on sancking on unhealthy foods inbetween and start doing healthy excersising

even if you just exercise for 5 minutes every day, it's still good and you'll be making progress. Run up and down the stairs, go up on one foot, then run down, do it again but on the other foot, play around with different ways to run up and down the stairs. It's fun, also it strengthens your core, and also gives a good work out. If you have a treadmill, run of that for 30min each day, it really helps, my dad isn't so lean, so he runs on the treadmill 1hour each day, and look at him now (if you could) he doesn't look like Santa anymore, and has more energy during the day. But with good exercise you need good food, so eat right and exercise. Good Luck and have fun!!! ^_^

I run 3 miles every day. So I do exercise, often, but I'm so afraid I'm fat. Do you think I am?

Dude, if you run 3 miles everyday, then you're not fat. You may consume a lot, but at the same time, you're releasing a lot of those "extra" foods. So no you're not fat. You just think you are, but you're most likely not.

I can't tell whether or not you really are chubby because I haven't seen a picture of you, but from what you are telling me, girl, you are not fat. Even if you showed me a picture, I highly doubt that you are fat.

Think positive, and not negative.
